Do we still believe in the American Revolution? Or do we confess that a small group of elites should run not only our country, but our lives? That is the question Ronald Reagan asked in 1964 and after the mid-term elections, I am asking it again. The sad thing is, there are plenty of tools to protect our rights, but the American people leave them rusting in the dirt. What are these tools and how can we use them? More important, what will happen if we continue to ignore these tools and look for someone or some political party to rescue us? All we have to do is look to history. If We the People do not stand for our own liberty, then it will fall in America just as it has in our history and in so many other countries around the world. And if freedom falls in America, where will those yearning to breath free be able to go? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @cyberengel.

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

I know, I know, you thought the election was over and it was safe to go to a podcast without being bombarded with election news. Well, the election is over, but there are a couple of stories I think are still worth looking at. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

It seems almost everyone is worried about Flock Safety and other Automatic License Plate Readers. I hate to tell you this, but there’s a lot more to be concerned about when it comes to your rights protected by the Fourth Amendment. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

Today is election day. If you haven’t figured out who to vote for yet, it’s pretty much too late. While everyone seems focused on getting out the vote, I want to look at both who’s watching the vote and the possible consequences for our lack of vision. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
