Federal law enforcement has accumulated tremendous power. And the American people have allowed them to violate some of the most important rights protected by the US Constitution under the guise of keeping us safe.
But if we’re willing to stand back and allow organizations like the FBI to watch the American people, the obvious next question should be, “who is watching the watchers?”
The Republican Staff of the House Judiciary Committee recently released a report documenting the whistleblower evidence they have received recently. Don’t be fooled; this is a political document, but many of the accusations have already been made by others.
Since this document is over 1,000 pages long and includes at least a dozen different accusations, I wanted to take some time and review them with you. My recommendation is to buckle up; it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. When it comes to freedom of speech, there are two things that generate a fair amount of controversy. First is yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater and second is burning the United States flag. Recently, Donald Trump issued an Executive Order about flag burning. So let's take a look at the order and some of the history around flag burning.
