In Federalist #58, James Madison said, “This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure.”
With the recent passage of the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill, we should not only see that We the People have lost all control over the purse, but that our immediate representatives in the House feel no compulsion to restrain their out-of-control spending habits. Many people are asking what can be done about Congress’ abuse of its spending and borrowing authority.
Only a few, however, are talking about the proper solution, an educated and engaged electorate. Let’s take a look at some more of this ridiculous spending, then see how We the People, can regain control of this effectual weapon to redress our grievances.

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

Just when you think DOGE has gotten to the bottom of the barrel, they find more barrel. The United States is supposed to be a nation of laws, not of men. However, over the decades, the laws of this nation have been taken over not only by bureaucrats and politicians, but by judges. Judges who, by the way, almost always place the opinions of other judges above the supreme law of the land.
