The Constitution Study
Politics • Education
I started The Constitution Study to help others learn to read and study their Constitution, so they may better know and understand their rights. It is where people can gather online to study together, discuss events, and help each other work to return our nation to the Constitutional Republic is was meant to be.

The Tyranny of Good Intentions are Destroying America the Beautiful

Do good intentions outweigh good outcomes? That is a question we should all be asking ourselves, especially when someone asks us to give up something to help others. You may have all of the good intentions in the world, but if they do not translate into good outcomes, then your intentions do not make things better. While this, to me, is exceedingly obvious, it seems lost on so many Americans today.
The problem with good intentions is that they seem to rarely be tested to see if they work. This often leads people to do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, which Einstein said was insanity.
Worse, by depending on intentions rather than results, we find ourselves in the tyranny of good intentions. We need to limit the production of carbon dioxide, not because it has been proven dangerous, but because it is people’s intentions to save the planet. We have to give up firearms, not because there’s evidence that it will reduce violent crime, but because that is the people’s intention. The federal government has to get involved with education, not because there’s evidence that they make it better, but because it is their intention to do so.
How long before our good intentions destroy not only the Republic but We the People?

In Loco Parentis, Tyrannis!

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

385 - Do Artificial Intelligences Have Rights?

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?

The Role of the Federal Courts

In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

Freedom of speech under attack

After four years of censorship by the federal government, and countless more from “corporate media”, many think that freedom of speech will flourish once again in America. However, while free speech is on the rise, it’s future is not as secure as you may think. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

More government waste exposed

Just when you think DOGE has gotten to the bottom of the barrel, they find more barrel. I’d say “If you want to get out of a hole, stop digging.” But I’ve been so happy at all of the waste, fraud, and abuse that’s been discovered. Now all we need to happen is for those in government to actually learn from these exposure and stop wasting our money. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

A nation of laws or courts

The United States is supposed to be a nation of laws, not of men. However, over the decades, the laws of this nation have been taken over not only by bureaucrats and politicians, but by judges. Judges who, by the way, almost always place the opinions of other judges above the supreme law of the land. Which begs the question, are we a nation of laws or of courts? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
