John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”. I don’t know about you, but what I see in America is a dismissal of religion which has led to a metamorphosis of what we call morality. Good is bad, black is white, men are women are just some of the examples of how the morality Mr. Adams was talking about has been turned on its head. What are the consequences of this moral inversion?
In his farewell address, George Washington said “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens.” So we shouldn’t be surprised that as religion and morality have declined in America, so has political prosperity.
America once had a national moral compass, which guided her into becoming the greatest nation the world has ever seen. We came to Europe’s rescue not once but twice, and we did not conquer, but supported. Americans bled a died in the Pacific and southeast Asia because our moral compass said that freedom and liberty were worth it. No, not everyone agreed with the way our moral compass pointed, but as long as you didn’t force your views on others, we could agree to live and let live.
Today our moral compass, or at least the one used by the influencers of our society, seems to have been demagnetized. The pointer spins and spins, leaving many Americans adrift on an ocean of confusion littered with shoals of destruction and no way to navigate. Yet there is a way to live and navigate our lives around those who are adrift and away from the shoals. The question is, will We the People listen to the siren songs of sexual enticement, communist promises that never come true, and pseudo-scientific nonsense, or will they find a moral compass that always points to the truth? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

We’ve all heard of the D.C. swamp, but did you know there’s a legal swamp as well? Call it the deep state, swamp, or just precedent, the entrenched bureaucracy of our so-called justice system is just as bad as the political swamp Trump ran against. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

We all know we have to pay for government. We’re reminded every April 15th of that fact. Some of you may even remember Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 and Congress' authority to lay and collect taxes. But is anyone paying attention to the actual cost of government? And just who is responsible for making sure those costs are reasonable? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

As the end of the current Supreme Court term approaches, we’ve seen a few important decisions published. Expect more during the month of June. Add to that the latest antisemitic attack in D.C., and it seems obvious that we are living in interesting times. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
