I’m old enough to remember the original Superman motto; Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Sadly those days are gone. The Declaration of Independence said you had a right to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness,” which is exactly what our governments and many institutions are trying to take away.
Just look at the reaction to the Supreme Court finally realizing that killing an unborn child was never a constitutionally protected right until their predecessors made it up. Individuals and groups targeted for disagreeing with government actors. Critical information is hidden away, and when it is found, there are cries that it must be kept secret to “protect our democracy.”
How many laws, rules, and regulations are designed to tell people how to live their lives? How many more are designed to suppress dissent to the ideas of today’s “ruling class?” There are those that are saying, “You will own nothing and be happy about it.”
Where is the “pursuit of happiness” there? It seems that censorship, irrationality, and collectivism have taken over most of the institutions the Americans trust to guide their lives.
In the world of classic Superman, there was Bizarro World, where everything was backward. I’ve realized that I live in Bizarro World where Truth, Justice, and the American Way are being replaced with Lies, Injustice, and the Socialist Way.

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

There are plenty of things we hear in life we wish we could silence. However, if we truly believe in freedom of speech, the answer is almost always more speech, not less. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

You’ve heard the saying, “Payback is a…”, Well you know what I mean. I’m guessing that one of the reasons why so many people fought so hard to defeat Trump in 2024 was the fear of payback for what was done to him in his first term in office. I guess you could say this is a case of Arctic Frost Bite! - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
