Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

Ah, the good old days, when presidential campaigns weren’t really a thing for most of us until after Labor Day, and we knew the results before Election Day ended. This year, we may not know for sure who our next President will be until inauguration day.
As of this recording, many of the elections have not been decided yet. While we’re all focusing on the Presidential election, there is a lot more going on in the state and local elections. That said, it’s not just how long it will take to count all the ballots, but how many ballots we can trust that will ultimately decide the next resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:11.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child; but when I became a man,
I put away childish things.
We all recognize not only that children do childish things, but we hope that as they grow up they would put those childish ideas away. In America it seems that hope may be a fools errand, as a study shows a shocking number of Americans believe that words are violence. Even when I was a child we recognized that “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Seems may not have grown up as much as we thought. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

Some of you may be thinking “Thank God! It’s election day and this madness will soon be over.” Oh no, I seriously doubt this madness will end anytime soon. Regardless of who wins, the looser and their supporters will claim fraud, interference, and all sorts of shenanigans. In part they will probably be true, after all, we’ve already seen attempts to illegally interfere in the election, and not all of them have been stopped. Then there are those who will claim that the allegations are true, but they were not enough to impact the election. Which group is true? We may never know. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
