The Apostle Paul wrote in his first epistle to the Corinthians, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” But what happens when we refuse to put away childish things?
When my daughter was a small child, she held childish ideas. She thought that money just appeared out of nowhere, that whatever she wanted was true, and she tried getting her way by throwing temper tantrums.
As her parent, part of my job was to teach her to put away such childish things. But what happens when children are not taught to grow up and put away their childish things? Take a look around. We have adults, many of them in positions of power and influence, who act like money appears out of nowhere, that something is true just because they say so, and that the proper response to not getting their way is a full-blown temper tantrum.
In short, America has more and more leaders and influencers who act like children rather than adults. If we continue to follow their lead, that is what America will become, a nation of spoiled brats.

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

We all have priorities. We may prioritize work over family or visa versa. We may prioritize our belief in climate change over our own economic benefit. Or we may just prioritize a political movement over our rights and the rights of others. A quick look at some recent events and I think you’ll agree, some people’s priorities are showing. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

America has become an extremely litigious society. Not just because we have more attorney’s than doctors, but because most Americans, including those attorneys, don’t understand the supreme law of the land. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

With all of the rhetoric about the government “shutdown”, one would reasonably believe that the world is coming to an end because of the arrogance of the political parties. However, for the most part, this shutdown hasn’t roared over the lives of the American people, it’s meowed. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
