The Constitution Study

I started The Constitution Study to help others learn to read and study their Constitution, so they may better know and understand their rights. It is where people can gather online to study together, discuss events, and help each other work to return our nation to the Constitutional Republic is was meant to be.

The Battle Between Liberty and Tyranny

Samuel Adams said “If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms.” That is a statement I believe we need to heed well in the 21st century. We have to decide which is more important to us, our liberty or our tranquility. Because the forces of tyranny are not only in power, but their despotism is growing.

Government censorship, burdensome regulation, and politicized courts are just the tip of this iceberg. As Thomas Paine wrote “THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.” Each and every American needs to ask themselves, are you a sunshine patriot and summer soldier, or will you stand now, not only for your rights, but those of your family and your country? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel

In Loco Parentis, Tyrannis!

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

385 - Do Artificial Intelligences Have Rights?

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?

The Role of the Federal Courts

In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

Dealing with the nanny state

Ahh, the Nanny State. A term I haven’t heard much of since the 1990’s. Yet today, the Nanny State, a government that wants to control your life from cradle to grave, is alive and well. How should We the People deal with this tyrannical government idea? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

The Frightful Despotism of Political Parties

George Washington warned us that political parties bring their own frightful despotism. From gerrymandering to primaries, We the People have allowed political parties to not only rule our elections, but to poison our interactions with their venom and hatred. Will we continue to let these private organizations drag the United States into the ash heap of history?

Seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual

I’m frequently amazed by our Founding Fathers ability to predict the future. George Washington warned us that the “spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension” would lead people to invest absolute power in an individual. Looking at the recent news about GOP primaries and we can see Washington was correct. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
