Take a look around, and you’ll see tyrannical policies coming out of the U.N. Washington, D.C., many of our state houses, and, yes, corporate America.
I talk to many people, and most fall into one of two categories, those who have given up and those who are frustratedly seeking someone to save them. In my mind, neither of those groups is living free.
What does it take to live free when so much around you is pressing you into servitude?
That’s what I want to talk about today. I want to look at some of what is happening today and not simply point out the tyranny but ways we can live free.
Rudyard Kipling writes, “If you can keep your wits about you while all others are losing theirs, and blaming you. . . . The world will be yours and everything in it. What’s more, you’ll be a man, my son.”
If you can keep your liberty while all others are losing theirs, not only will the world be yours, but you will be a PATRIOT!

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.
