Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times…
It appears the American people have not learned from either the 2020 or 2022 elections. I still hear people claim there was no significant voter fraud during either elections, evidence be damned. Add to that all of the interference current going in for the 2024 elections and I have to wonder, is there any hope for the republic?
As Patrick Henry asked in in 1775, I ask you today,
“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?”
Are we ready to doom future generations to servitude and despotism for the crumbs offered us this day? Will We the People, as others before us have, applaud the new, tyrannical regime, simply because they promise our comfort and ease?
I say NO. Just as Samuel Adams said during the trying times of the Revolution,
“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms.”
But if the sacred fires of liberty burn in your breast, then I call on you to cry, as Patrick Henry did,
“Give me liberty, or give me death!”
Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?
In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

We all learned about Separation of Powers in school, at least I hope we all did. While usually focused on the different branches of government, there is also a separation of powers between the state and federal governments. As James Madison stated in Federalist Paper #45:
The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.

Most people know that the first ten amendments to the Constitution are known as the Bill of Rights. While many disagree on what those rights really mean, today I want to look at how they’re being protected, or abused, around the nation. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews
