There has been a lot of people calling for Israel to have a proportional response to the Hamas attacks a couple of weeks ago. I think Hamas and their sympathizers should thank their gods that Israel has NOT responded in a proportional manner.
Merriam-Webster defines proportional as “corresponding in size, degree, or intensity”. The last thing those calling for a proportional response is an actual proportional response. Imagine how they would react if Israel attacked Gaza the same way Hamas attacked them. What if Israel targeted non-combatants as Hamas did. Should we insist that the body counts are equal and the atrocities equally horrific?
Along the same line, we should not respond proportionally to those who want to subjugate us. As much as we may like to, if we sink to their level, we are no better than they are. - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

When it comes to freedom of speech, there are two things that generate a fair amount of controversy. First is yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater and second is burning the United States flag. Recently, Donald Trump issued an Executive Order about flag burning. So let's take a look at the order and some of the history around flag burning.
It seems most people look to the federal government to fix every problem. I think that’s because they are under the false impression that the federal government can do anything it wants. I’m not sure if there have been more acts of violence lately, or they’ve just been covered more in the media. What many of these acts have in common may surprise you.
