I started The Constitution Study to help others learn to read and study their Constitution, so they may better know and understand their rights. It is where people can gather online to study together, discuss events, and help each other work to return our nation to the Constitutional Republic is was meant to be.

Should Rahimi be the poster child for the Second Amendment?

There's an adage in the legal profession, "hard cases make bad law". It can also be said that bad cases make bad law, and the case of United States v. Rahimi is one of those bad cases. The question is legitimate. Does 18 U. S. C. §922(g)(8), which prohibits a person under domestic violence restraining order from possessing a firearm or ammunition, violate the Second Amendment. However, for those of you who are thinking the answer is yes, Zackey Rahimi is not the person you would want leading this case.

In Loco Parentis, Tyrannis!

Who is in charge of your children? That has been a perennial question that has grown in importance over the last few years. When I was a child, it was understood that, with rare exceptions, parents were in charge of a child’s upbringing. This included medical, religious, and educational decisions. However, over the last few decades, the role of the parent in these decisions has been replaced by experts. What happens when the goal of the experts differs from those of the parents? Who decides the future of the rising generations? It was understood that the state acted in loco parentis, in place of the parents, only for the safety of the child. A recent case in U.S. District Court shows that be it health departments, child services, schools, or even the courts. Government not only believes they know better than the parents, they are more than willing to act in loco parentis tyrannis.

385 - Do Artificial Intelligences Have Rights?

With the release of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) applications, there has been a lot of speculation and downright assertions about our future. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), not more than a passing understanding of AIs, I've come to the conclusion that much of what I've heard is more science fiction than fact. A recent court case decided in the D.C. District Court revolved around one very important question. Do AIs have rights?

The Role of the Federal Courts

In this third installment of the three-part series on the branches of government, we look at the role of the third and weakest branch. At least that is what our Founding Fathers thought of it. What is the role of the federal judiciary? What are the extent of their powers, how do they related to the other two branches of government, and why is a proper understanding of the role of the judiciary critical if the United States is to remain a constitutional republic?

Voluntarily entering the chains of servitude

"The best government is that which governs least." When Thomas Jefferson said this, he was making the point that the people are to govern themselves, not be controlled by government. Sadly, that idea appears to be lost both on the American people and those they hire to represent them. Although I am not sure who first said it, there is another saying which explains our current situation. "If your government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take away everything you have." - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

Nothing can now be trusted...

Thomas Jefferson said “Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle.” While a biased media is nothing new, I have to wonder what it says about America when the same can be said about our government agencies? - Live 4PM ET with Host Paul Engel @CyberEngel @OutLoudNews

9/11, a day that appears to be forgotten

December 7, 1941 is a day that will live in infamy. After September 11, 2001, I thought that day would live in infamy as well. However, it appears the American people have not learned the lessons from that day that many of us hoped.

To this day airline travelers suffer the spying and indignity of the TSA checkpoints, which both internal audits and external reporting have shown to have failed between 80-95% of the time. After allowing 20 “students” to enter this country and overstay their visas, 19 of which who then conducted the attack, one of which did make his flight, we still have leaders in this nation that show no concern about the flood of people illegally entering this country. If that weren’t bad enough, those same people are also allowing them to stay after they have been convicted of even violent crimes after illegally entering the country. I guess when all those signs of “Never Forget!” were posted across the country, they didn’t really mean it. - Live 4PM ET with...
